Hundreds of mourners have gathered at Broken Hill’s Civic Centre for the funeral of Dave Gallagher who died after complications following a stroke at the Royal Adelaide Hospital on February 9.

The retired police sergeant dedicated most of his life to the community, first in the NSW Police before becoming a Broken Hill City Council councillor in 2011.

Barrier Police District officers and former colleagues led the procession.
