In January 2019, Peter was in a Nursing Home at Cronulla, after having suffered a severe stroke.

On the 4 November 2010, Tako received a life saving bone marrow transplant from an unknown donor from Germany.

Tako was told then ( 2010 ) that 2 years post transplant will gravely reduce the return of the disease, but if he could reach the 5 year mark, he will have beaten the beast.

On 4 November 2015, ( 5 years later ) Tako posted a FB status that he had “beaten the beast” and was cancer free.

Tako certainly went through the wars with his health and we wish him a pain free eternity.

Deepest condolences to his wife Samantha, son Mitch & daughter Georgia.

Tako, after his retirement, was the NSW Police Football coach for the team taking part in the Australasion Games.

It is with a very sad and heavy heart that we let our soccer community know that Peter Takacs passed away on Saturday, 20 June 2020.

Peter, a life member of CJFC, will always be remembered for his quick wit, he’s approachable manner, and most of all just being a bloody great bloke.
